Here we go…deep breath. You’re standing there, waiting. Then, the little red light goes on, launching the recording of whatever is being asked of you by your client. Do you stand there like a deer in headlights?
What do you do to maximize your authority the next few minutes? How do you avoid sounding and looking meek or ill-prepared, thrown by the camera and lights, or coming off like a know-it-all, or worse, a know-nothing? Rather, how do you command authority, building confidence in your subject matter expertise, sound completely natural, extraordinarily knowledgeable, and totally authoritative to your listener or viewer?
Let television, film and voice-over actor David H. Lawrence XVII (HEROES, LOST, The People vs. OJ, The Mentalist and 35 years on network radio) will walk you through what you need (and need to avoid) to project complete authority, authenticity and leadership when on camera. He’ll show you how to take what you’ve already been honing and refining in your voice over work, and apply it directly to working with a camera, rather than a microphone. And, he’ll give you strategies and tactics that can help you attract (and keep) more listeners and viewers to your work – and make more money in the process.
