SiriusXM and Pandora Radio Casting Director Steve Pogatch joined the VO Peeps this July
In this VO Peeps commercial workout, Steve Pogatch shared essential tips for both new and experienced voice actors alike, emphasizing the benefits of technique and practice. He stressed the importance of self-direction and experimenting with different ways to emphasize words to vary your reads. He also highlighted the value of taking an improv class, varying your pacing, and adding a musical feel to lists to keep the delivery engaging. Steve encouraged voice actors to give themselves a different perspective by listening to their recordings in various environments. Steve suggested using imaginary commas to create suspense and drama, and physically pointing while reading to convey directions effectively. He encouraged voice actors to periodically submit their work to platforms like Pandora and stay in touch.
